Inside QTEK's quality process
From material to final inspection.
A label that fails in the field costs far more than the label itself: a stopped line, a relabelled batch, a recall. QTEK’s quality process is built around preventing that rather than catching it at the end, and it runs in three stages.
1. Procurement
Quality is decided by what goes into the press. We specify industry-acclaimed label material, high-quality plates and dies, and quality inks. The substrate and adhesive are chosen for the application, not only for the price: a chilled product, a drum of chemical and a shampoo bottle do not need the same face stock or the same adhesive.
2. Processing
Production runs in a controlled environment with managed inventory, so material is stored the way it needs to be before printing. Inspection is built into the run: a video inspection system and in-line monitoring watch the print as it is produced. That matters because defects are cheap to fix while the press is running and expensive to find after the job is packed.
3. Independent verification
After production, a separate check compares the finished job with the approved artwork and specification. Post-production inspection and defect elimination are deliberately kept apart from the production team, so the person signing off the job is not the person who ran it.
Certification
Our quality system is certified under ISO, certificate number IAS/IND/9620. Certification is a baseline; the three stages above are what actually happen on an order.
What this means when you buy
Ask what the label will meet, not only what it will cost. The application — filling temperature, storage, moisture, abrasion, whether the pack is chilled or frozen, whether it carries a statutory warning — decides the material and ink. Tell us that at enquiry stage and the specification follows from it; leave it out and the cheapest compliant-looking option may be the wrong one.
